recycling is more than just trendy

ever heard of Freecycle.org? it's like recycling, but better. you join the group nearest you (ours is a Yahoo group) and when you have something you don't need and will throw away, you post it and if someone wants or needs it they respond. you can leave it outside for them to pick up, or you can greet them and chat.

i've met some cool people and freecycled a lot of stuff that would've gone to the landfill. we've gotten nice tv's, furniture, kids stuff, almost a piano, but someone responded b4 me. a lot of rich people and hippies live around here, so everything is really nice and the system itself works really well. i've gotten all the things i need for my recycled artwork, for free. whenever we need something, i always try Freecycle or craigslist first.

rock!!

How power tools convinced my husband to stop smoking

It all started with a sale at Sears! He's been begging for a new set of power tools for months, and I kept begging him to put it off, wait until much bigger purchases were out of the way...
But it was like trying to ignore a little kid, he came at me from every angle so that every conversation related back to Power Tools On Sale!! LOL
"But I really need them because.."
"Its the last day of the sale and there's only one set left..."
"But all the other guys at work have their own tools..."
"So-and-so got a raise because he has more tools than me..."

I wasn't convinced he seriously Needs Them until he Pinky Swore he'd stop smoking for them.
Yes, we did the pinky swear...
I'm so glad he quit smoking....we'll save what we spent at Sears in the first month just from not buying cigarettes...they are more than 5$ a pack and he goes thru a pack a day or every other day! Wow!

I also found the perfect swimsuit for our almost 2yo girl on the way to the tool section, so that was cool....it was 50% off online! Kids clothes are so expensive! That's why I'm trying to get some extra money, not only so I can get more stuff for my kids, but so I can go shopping for my own clothes...I haven't gone shopping in YEARS!

Hubby promised to help me get my inventory going for my Etsy business tho, so that will be a huge motivation and exiting too...
yay!

Welcome! Bienvendidos a Todos!

Thank you for stopping by, you are welcome anytime. Please read my full profile and drop a comment! The ads on this site are public service (to the right I have links to stuff on sale) and I also get moolah if you just click....the sites are actually pretty interesting to read.

Leave a comment with your info and any questions, and together we can link our blogs and create a network for SAHMs!!!!

This is my first post!!

Well this is fun so far. In the midst of so much going on in my life, I've had so much pressure to be supportive financially too. (Its my own pressure)...Since I'm going to school online and I really don't want my kids in day-care or to be latch-key, I tried unfruitfully to find an online job. Finally I came up with a way, just by maintaining a website (this blog) and putting ads on it. Hopefully I can generate enough interest to make it work. Hopefully we can create a network and support each other!! Anyone think its a great idea???

Leave a comment to join, I will get you set up and we can start a network of mommies at home making money....this is SO NOT a scheme....I'm so tired of disapointment already!
